Ceika Coilovers for the SVX

So I was talking to that guy who recently sold his SVX with the BBS LM's on ebay Australia, and I asked him what coilovers he used to lower his car. He told me he used Ceikas, and that they have all the information needed in their computers to make another set. I emailed them last night, and they verified that they do have the dimensions of our cars and would be able to make a set whenever we wanted. They're lowest priced set is $880, and that's for everything. Since I need new struts/springs/mounts, this would be a cheaper option and would deliver much better control, not to mention that I could lower my car in the summer and raise it in the winter. Has anyone heard anything bad about this brand? The guy in Australia said they were fine. Just wanted someone else's opinion before I buy these.

Those are the ones I have, as do a few other people.
As I mentioned in the message I sent mine needed modifications to fit but this guy reimbursed me for those and said the design would be updated to include the right fit.
I have had no trouble with mine in the 7-8 months they have been on the car.

Yes but they're twice as expensive. 92SVX, how much modification was needed, and hows the ride quality?

You will want to find out from him if the modifications have been implemented as far as ride quality goes depends on the Springs you choose I chose heavy Springs for better handling so it's rougher than most people would like.

$880 for a bolt-in product sounds like a steal compared to $1200 + fabrication for a Koni/GC setup.

I'm really debating getting a set, especially at that price. I'll have to contact him tomorrow and see if he fixed the modification issues. They must be reputable if he refunded you for the errors on his part too.

Re: Ceika Coilovers for the SVX

I pm'd you this same info but I figured anyone looking into this will want the info.

First there is still a wait time, he (at that time) builds to each costumer's specs. I ordered Feb 1 2012 and they arrived about june 2012. I think his turn around time may be better now as the most of that time was a hang up in customs he said. You can look through the thread about it some people were starting to give up on them.
Second all struts(oem or other) will need some sort of (tophat) the top of the strut is just a threaded cylinder that goes through some material (like rubber in the case of oem) that is able to bolt to the strut tower. The good news all his coil overs ship with such a (tophat) but if you want it to have camber adjustment that usually costs more if you can find it check his ebay listing he had pics of the various options. This pic is the (tophat) I chose it has the adjustable camber.

You will also need a new front say bar mount which he provides but make sure he remembers he needs to send it with the struts, I got mine several weeks after as he did not realize I needed one. it looks like

Are these coming from Australia, US or another country? What is the shipping cost?

This seems very appealing for the price. Is e price USD or ASD?

I will expand on this as I am at my computer and typing on the keyboard vs the phone screen:lol:
also I have pics.

Ok first thing I ran into was the top plate that bolts to the strut tower was the wrong dimensions, they may have been for a wrx.
http://localserver.no-ip.biz/Public/...late%20003.jpg
I went to a local machine shop with a oem tophat and this top plate that didnt fit and had a new set made.
Then the mount to the knuckle was not the right size
http://localserver.no-ip.biz/Public/...ckle%20001.jpg
My mistake when I took this to the machine shop was not having better measuring tools I told them to take 4mm off total, 2 from each side, that was incorrect I had to go back and have them take another .5 from each side, trying to force it on was a no go. even with the additional .5 off each side it was a tight fit.
and third was the bolt holes on the front knuckles. They were just slightly off needed to slot out the holes by a few mm's.

I'm contacting him now about the dimension issues you noted. I will get back with an answer when he responds.

Just so you guys know, he emailed me back today. This was his response. It looks like we have another coilover option, that's cheaper than an oem suspension! I will buy a set this summer if I can save up the money.

Hello David,

Yes the specs and drawings were revised after those first orders according to the fitment issues that were reported. We guarantee perfect fitment.

Best Regards,

Please keep us posted. I would love to know how well they fit this time around and how long they take to ship. If I recall it took several months for members to receive them.
