transmission questions

I have a 1994 2wd tranny. it has 130 k.

The mechanic says it needs two quarts of oil. he checked the oil and said oil is fine and is not smelling burn.

I run the tranny for 1500 miles like this. Did the tranny suffer? The tranny runs smooth it has never been rebuild.

another question:

when is going to shift to second it does it at at 3000 rpm instead of of 2000 rpm. can this be fixxed without a rebuild?

q3

what oil do you recommend? also the mechanic told me to use an additive is this wise?

thank you

As long as it did not slip too much, before the oil was toped up. The shift into 2nd may be helped by adjusting the brake band.
