Anybody know this car?

For sale in Utah: '94 L FWD with a probable blown HG. About 120k miles. Stage 1 shift kit, slotted rotors, big stereo and obnoxious wing. Originally Laguna Blue. Owner wants $1500/obo including original wheels. Is it worth saving?

Thats actually an LE model. It has the auto seat belts, and it will also only have the drivers side airbag. I also dont think Ive seen them with abs, so count that out as well.

Obnoxious wing is right...... that really took the appeal of that SVX down a few notches. Well, besides the obvious lol

I don't mind the rims too much. Looks like it didn't come with a stock wing originally- at least I can't see any mounting holes. I did the HGs on my '92 pearl a few years ago- wondering if I want to do it again!

Good think it comes with the origional wheels.. Those rims are the nastiest ugliest pieces of crap I have ever seen on a vehicle... :barf: The wing is a piece of garbage as well... Plenty of Neon's, Civic's, and Colbalt's have that garbage on the back around here so that's saying something on it's own.

Also, why in God's name are the whipers white? And what the hell is that mess hanging from the rear view mirrior?! I'd have him knock down the price to maybe $1,000... He'd be lucky to get anything else..

If you look in the picture of the front of the car, you can see a Wendy's cup near the back of the photo.. Looks like it's resting on the wing, lol! That's about the only thing this thing seems functional for..

Re: Anybody know this car?

Definitely worth saving, but not at the $1500 price. Often times a "blown head gasket" is a bad diagnosis and is really a case of jumped timing. If you can look at the car, check the oil and the water in the radiator. Normally a blown head gasket will result in oil in the water and/or water in the oil. If both the oil and water are normal, I would suspect a timing issue. In this case it is a pretty simple fix. (Of course, I would make my offer based on it being a blown head gasket.)

I agree that this is an LE instead of an L model. The absence of the ABS is the primary indicator. Driver side airbag is more of a function as to when the car was built versus the model. Same with automatic versus manual seat belts. The spoiler was an option on these vehicles so some come with it an others do not.

I hadn't noticed the Wendy's cup on the wing- that's pretty funny. Owner says it was running fine and now smokes and overheats, so it doesn't sound like a timing issue to me. (It would be cool if it was, though.)

When my '92 pearl blew the HG, it was leaking oil into the coolant, so no smoke, but she overheated pretty fast in the summer.

I agree, the luguna blue is my fav too!! My dream is to get a 94 LSi with low miles. One went on ebay several months ago. It was in Texas.

I like the barcalona red and brilliant red too,:) but I hate the beige interior the goes with them!!

If it was still Laguna Blue I'd be all over it. It looks like a cheap Maaco repaint and I hate the white-out look. Two of my previous 4 SVX's were repaints and it wasn't a good thing.
