tranny oil cooler

I've heard some good things about the tranny oil cooler from you guys, so I picked up one off e-bay. Has all the parts, new in the box. But how do I put it in? I didn't see a howto in the how to section...is there one around, and I'm just not seeing it?

Also, it's my guess that i'll probably have to put more oil into the tranny once this is in. Anyone know how much?

Hey, putting this into words will make it sound easy. It is easy IF you got one small enough. The first thing I would do is to pull the grill out and see if your cooler is going to fit. You might have to remove the radiator brackets that bolt to the core support on either side of the hood latch. Then remove the two bolts that support the air conditioner condenser. This is so that you can push the radiator and condenser back so that you have room.

If it fits, the next thing to do is to plumb your lines so that the line comming out of the original cooler is now directed to your auxilary cooler. Then from the aux cooler, back to the tranny. Fasten the cooler to the condenser, check for leaks. You won't have to add much fluid. Let me know if you have any questions.

If you are going to install the cooler, you might as well install a canister type filter as well. You might have extra room if you have things taken apart to do this a little easier. It is just the next step in protecting the tranny. :)

ok, so all I have to do really is put it inline with the factory cooler. That SOUNDS simple enough :)

The one I got seams pretty small. Looks like it SHOULD fit with out a problem...I hope.

Thanks for the help. I'll try and do it this weekend, if the city is done and I can get into my driveway.
