SVX Liftback

Is it possible to convert the SVX to a liftback like a supra or camaro? (window and trunk would be the same piece) I'm sick of trying to clean that back window. It's so ridiculous. If it's possible, I know it would be $$$, but I think it would look sick.

well, if it performs like the hood ... or ends up looking not so good...could it be considered and "anti-theft" device???

you know, so you could save on insurance.

Nothing is impossible with enough time, money & skill.

That said, you'll lose a good bit of structural integrity in the back. That's why the Mustang, and now, the Camaro went away from a hatch.

Solution

Trade it in for a Camaro or Supra.

I wouldn't trade my arm for this, but I'd pull a big knife from the block, think, and put it back.

You may be able to, but who would want to? :( :( :(

You, sir, have convinced me to never, EVER want to make my SVX into a hatchback.

LOL...

Almost looks like it has the top glass like the concept in that pic :)
that'd be an interesting mod ;)

Gah, what about keeping the current roofline, having the trunk and rear glass open together?

That's what I was thinking.

The problem, of course, is that in making that any bit useful, the structure between the strut towers would have to be removed, entering a lot of flex to be compensated for elsewhere. :(

hey, if you squint at that picture and slowly back away....... nope, it still looks dumb.:p
