Re: Impreza Concept - NICE!!
I also like the design, I'm just confused how this came to be. Subaru tends to drag out chassis designs for quite a while, just going with facelifts and mild sheetmetal changes through the life of a platform. This car looks like much more than a facelift. The GC chassis lasted 7 years, the GD chassis lasted 7 years, but the current GE or whatever it's called version is only 2 or 3 years old. I don't see why they're coming out with such a radically different design so early in this platform's life, especially considering the sales the current Impreza is getting.

Not a fan at all. A convertible Impreza?
Now if they were introducing as a brand new vehicle, then that would make sense. |

:barf:
Fat car is fat. They'll have to reintroduce the Justy to get me into a dealership. I know, most of this ugly model bloat is gov't mandated, but dammit at least Honda and Toyota gave us the Fit and Yaris to replace their former lineup of reasonable sized cars. Subaru sells nothing but Winnebagos now. Why does Subaru hate me?:( |

Re: Impreza Concept - NICE!!
Yea, that doesn't look like an Impreza at all. Reminded me of an Audi on initial glance. Seems like they are trying to age the impreza or have it appeal to an older crowd for some reason. Though, I'm not sure why. This can't be what a current Impreza owner wants to upgrade to at all.

Re: Impreza Concept - NICE!!
An improvement over the rebadged POS Accent the currently call an Impreza but still ugly, uninspired and and porky.

Re: Impreza Concept - NICE!!
They have copied the side of the 2009 Nissan Altima. It is a perfect match, well I like it, only the side look.
The rear is a POS. The front, they need to rework the front bumper design. If their prototype looks like that, what did they leave to the commercial design? It is really a shame to see the Koreans dominate the Japs in terms of design... and probably the quality/reliability. Have you seen the new Kia Optima lately? A commercial design and 100x better looking than a subaru concept car... http://www.mitayani.com/wp-content/u...ptima-2011.jpg http://motorimpress.com/images/news/...-optima-07.jpg |
Re: Impreza Concept - NICE!!
The Impreza never really did too much much for me, the best I can say is some of them looked OK. They are fun to drive no doubt about that, but style wise I was not much of a fan. This one is only a concept but if they go to production with something similar I could see myself buying one.

Re: Impreza Concept - NICE!!
I like that Kia too, it's very nicely done, much better looking than the Sonata, which just looks weird to me. But no AWD and the manual transmission is only available on the base LX model, and it is not a Subaru.

Re: Impreza Concept - NICE!!
heh, that is pretty snazzy for a Kia! I remember driving behind someone and I had to do a double take to realize it was a Kia... I don't know if it was the Forte Koupe or the Optima but I was still taken by surprise.

For me, Subaru stopped in 99, after the best looking makeover impreza was unveiled... Can you now convince me with the 2010 Legacy for example? As for the Nissan Altima, stay far far far far .... infinity far away from this failure in automotive history at any cost LOL  |
Re: Impreza Concept - NICE!!
Saw it in LA auto show in person. I cannot say I am impressed, but it does look better than 2009 Impreza ;) Also, the guy at Subaru's exhibit said that if the car goes into production, it won't keep such "mirror-less" appearance - DOT would not allow for cameras in place of mirrors.
