Post Em Up!

It's almost time to dyno the SVX. Luckily I'll have a stock SVX and my "nicely modded" SVX. I'm just curious who's dynoed theirs and what mods they've done. Post up your plots so we can compare and contrast!

No one has any Dyno plots? Atleast some advice for squeezing out as many horses as possible?

Here's the dyno of my former '96 SVX when all she had was an STI panel filter and intake silencer delete:

Done on a dynojet where stock STIs typically makes 235-240whp.

Here's a dyno done by a former SVX Network member SVXtypeR

http://www.subaru-svx.net/photos/fil...etkd/35227.jpg

He has a spike which occured at 6,900rpms which caused the peak hp for the red plot to read 176hp...but his car is making roughly 150whp on both runs.

FYI - this was done on the same dyno where I tested my car (Altered Atmosphere).

Thanks Chike! What mods were the cars running?

KevinM 04-12-2006 09:37 PM

Is that day still set for the last Saturday of the month?

I am down, I can dyno my SVX but I also want to dyno the WRX. :D

I listed the mods in my car at the top of the graph in post #3 (i.e. panel filter & no intake silencer). The mods in SVXtypeR's car are listed on his dyno sheet (panel filter, 3" catback and Level 10 tranny).

Hell yeah Kevin! Bring em both out! I have you on the list for the WRX but also the SVX would be great just incase the 96 that is supposed to be coming backs out. The dyno day is still the 29th.

We're a couple days away... any quick tips to sqeeze some more ooomph out of the SVX? I'm doing an oil change the day before and getting some 100 octane race fuel. Anything else i could do to get some more?

The 100 octane race fuel won't do much good if you don't make changes to make use of it.

What mods do you have done to your SVX? Getting a list of mods would help determine where you're at and what you can do to improve.

I have a giant "Import Racing" sticker...:D

But really... I have the stage 2v5 w/Z32 MAF, Dayle's Stage 3 CAI, Stebro Exhaust, Impreza RS FPR, and royal puprle fluids.

Zeppelin 04-26-2006 02:14 PM

In that case, you should be able to run a little more timing in it to get some extra HP. It's dangerous to do if you don't have monitoring software though.

I don't think the SVX has any type of data logger.. If you had a ODBII car you might be able to get a pocket logger and find something that works.

Show up early and disconnect your battery for 30 to 60 minutes to earase the ECU memory

The OBDI has ECU memory? Didn't know that, there are some guys that are kinda going to be in a hurry so I'm prob not going to be the first run. But the best part of this dyno day is there is supposed to be 3 SVXi there. I hope Kevin (on here) brings out his Teal and Amanda (she's not a member on here) brings out her 96 Ebony.

TomsSVX 04-26-2006 02:55 PM

Higher octane will not help you. Unless the octane is the limiting factor it will not give you any extra ponies. You best bet is to go with some 93 octane fuel which is what the stage 2v5 is tuned for give it a bottle of octane booster(to be sure it as the acceptable level). THis hsould give you your best run.
