This is the price to rebuilt my tranny

Well my car doesn't drive at all, but it starts up great. I was told it would cost around $2400 to rebuilt it and if it needs a new converter add $379 but they wont know until they start taking things apart. The repair comes with a one year warranty. What do you guys think?

Looks like it's time for a 4.11/4.44 swap!

That is a typical price for a rebuilt tranny. I have heard of members paying more, but that is about right. Good luck. :)

I am getting a rebuilt torque converter, through CarQuest, (for a frustrated member who just had a local trany shop rebuild it a year ago) for $297.00 plus $25.00 shipping.
They did not fully seat the new converter, and it continued to blow three front seals every time they put it on the ground.

Pictures are in my locker. They are under the members name, and the title "TQ+flexplate.
MOST IMPORTANT!!! When you install the torque converter into the transmission, for it to fully seat, you must keep turning the TQ, untill the TQ to flexplate mounting flanges are into the bell housing, about a 1/2".
