Re: i need help here..

Wait, you actually created a thread, just to bump a post you made in a complete different section of the forum?!

Correct if I'm wrong here mods, but this is NOT what the "Technical Q&A" (or for that matter, ANY) part of the this forum is for. Your question will be answered when someone with the carnal knoweldge to do so feels like it, this thread will NOT help your cause...

Re: i need help here..

i asked for help with the dash.. not for an explanation on how to use the forums.

Re: i need help here..

i posted the link here because people dont check the mods section where the initial 'dash kit mod' thread was started.
I need help, not smart comments which resolve nothing.. the forum was created to help us better our cars by communicating, i was not created to have 'smart' observers like u give lessons on how to use the forums.

We don't need to check the interior mod section to see your post...
When you posted to the ignition thread, it bumps the thread.
It then shows up under "New posts", when you press the new post button.

Just trying to clear it up for you.

If you wanted to start your own thread.. you should make one called "Bulb numbers needed ASAP please" or something, with the list of blubs you need identified, instead of a link to a post in another thread...

Ok, next thing. You have your cluster out. Why can you not just pull the bulbs out and go to the parts store with them?

Re: i need help here..

These are the bulbs in question, all wedge style blubs, I cant make out the identification numbers.

LARGE BLUB:

MED BULB:

SMALL BULB:

Sorry buddy .. best I can do for you is post pics of them in hopes someone else can ID them.
I would just bring them to the parts store and match them up.. that's what I do with blubs.

You are new, so we are trying to help you so you don't find yourself in trouble. You need to post in the right forum, post only once, and not go into a flame job! WE are not here 24/7, and not all experts on your wants. Post your information and wait until someone can get you the information that you want. Also you can use the search button. That will bring up all kinds of information.

Getting hostile here will get you in a time out quicker than anything else you can do. We all are here to help each other, so don't bite the hand that gives you information. Like the previous post, someone will get to you when they can. I know that you want the info asap, but that doesn't make it an emergency for us.

Thanks for your cooperation and thank you for following the rules. I would suggest reading the rules that are posted here for new members. :)

Re: i need help here..

Large blub = 158 BULB .24AMPS INCANDESCENT
small = GE 74 1w/14v T1.75 Automotive Miniature Bulb

MED bulb is a mystery. Both of my med bulbs have no numbers on them at all.

The medium and the small blubs share the same size end. The small bulb fit in the medium socket, and medium blub fits in the small socket.

I just happen to be sick today and sitting home bored.
And I happened to have picked up a free gauge cluster on tuesday, so I had one here that I could pull bulbs out and look at.

Re: i need help here..

I am not sure but it looks like one of the larger bulbs is a 192.

Lookin4SVX 04-02-2011 04:29 PM

Re: i need help here..

When I plugged in the numbers I could make out on the largest bulb into google, it linked me to the 158 bulbs.
Then I went to o'reilly's and looked up instrument panel blubs for the 1992 SVX. It also said 158.

192 is 13v 4w.
158 is 14v 3w.

Bulb I pulled had a 3w on it. (doesn't mean previous owner couldn't have put the wrong blubs in.. I could only make out numbers on 1 bulb)

On a side note, the LED I just looked at listed as fitting both 158 and 192...
http://www.ecrater.com/p/9672869/25s...-led-bulb-pair

and no Im not buying those LEDs...
