Subaru Killed my SVX

Larry H. Miller subaru killed my SVX motor, my motor is toast.

They did one of several things:

No Oil Filter
No Oil Pan
Didnt Put Either On Properly

There is an oil trail 3 blocks long and a puddle the size of mitch under my car..as we speak......

Im so pissed i cant see straight...

F***!!!! I'd go right down to that dealer and not leave until they promise to fix everything at no cost to you. If the Service Manager won't speak with you, ask for the general manager.

Wait a minute. First you say 'no oil pan' and 'no oil filter,' but then you say that neither were installed correctly.

Well, if they're not there, of course they weren't installed correctly. So which was it?

Of course, it doesn't really matter. This sounds like it's so obviously their fault.

Why did they have the oil pan off?

I know how pissed you are, though. A dealer in Vermont made a very Jiffy-Lube mistake on me and instead of draining the engine oil they drained the front diff. That would have to mean that they didn't replace the oil filter or the oil either. I was very lucky I caught it.

And another time the same dealer shop smeared oil all over the driver's door pull. They had to repalce the entire interior door trim.

bad deal. i am almost afraid to pick up the impreza from the dealership this evening. :(

They had the motor out of my SVX to get it fresh for the supercharger, i have an invoice 4 pages long of seals, gaskets and everything under the damn hood that was replaced, they took off the oil pan flushed the engine, replaced injectors, i mean every little thing you could do, then they dropped trans and checked it over supposedly with a fine toothed comb, replaced some parts and power flushed it, same with diff. It had every part that was possible changed out that was accessible while the motor was out. Manifold gaskets etc. It was the works pretty much.

The guy comes outta the service area lays down thinking i might have clipped the oil pan or crankcase and thats why it exploded oil, he gets up this scared ****less look on his face, and flips his phone open, calls enterprise to get me a rental, then orders 3 mechanics. He pops the hood, and there is oil dripping off the hood, last time i saw damage like that, was vr4 ate 2 cylinders from crank walk......And i aint got no pulleys...LOL.....the manager told me they will try and rebuild her, but after 28 days if they cant get it going, he said to look around their lot for what i might want. So im thinking if they kill my SVX i will buy DearPrudence's and have the dealer fix all the little qwerks...

I typed that at work while waiting for a tow truck, and we now know that subaru didnt put an oil filter in the car.......or if it was installed it fell out.......the mechanic who had it yesterday cant rememeber, and on a side note, yesterday when i went to get her, the engine under skid thing was hanging down so i made them go put it back on properly, nobody happened to notice then that **** was broke ass??? LOL, oh well, its just a car, i have to keep telling myself its just a car while i drive enterprises toyota corolla like i stole it......

I think it is perfectly justifiable and legal to commit murder in this case. It's written in the canadian criminal code.

So sorry man, I hope they realize and own up to their error. It really sucks that you went in to make it perfect and got totally screwed in the end.

i'm with matt on this one. you want to lynch the mechanic's first or should i matt?

immortal_suby 05-04-2004 07:57 PM

lynching is too humane. I'm thinking wide awake disembowelment.

Chiketkd 05-04-2004 08:09 PM

That's going to be an expensive fix for the dealership to swallow. The mechanic(s) that worked on the car are going to be in deep s***!

Disembowelment sounds best! :D :D :D

They should do the honorable thing and practice seppuku, being its a Japanese car and all.

and i should have been afraid.

took it in because the CE light was on and they told me i just needed new plugs and wires and sent me on my way. it didn't feel right, but since it's not my daily driver, i didn't think too much about it. the next day the light came back on and we took it back. this time, they put in some bg44k and told us to run a few tanks of premium fuel through it.

so after a month and two more cans of bg44k, i took it in last night. this morning, they called and told me one of my fuel injectors needed replacing. i complained about the unnecessary plugs and wires from the first time i took the car in and they agreed to eat the labor fot this repair. i was totally okay with this because the labor on the injector replacement was more than the plugs and wires.

so i pick up the car and proceed to drive it home. my power was restored and i thought my problems were finally over. then after twenty miles when i was almost home, the darn CE light comes back on. now i have to take it back a fourth time! i really don't think its aything major, but i am beyond frustrated with this car and the dealership. i don't understand why they can't figure out what the problem is. :(

at least i have a car there waiting for me.
