SVX Straight line performance
As there is a "wave" coming that will, no doubt, erase these figures soon, I figured I'd start a new thread with them so folks can use this thread as a reference;)
-Bill p.s. somebody please correct me if I've got any of these wrong:D PoweredX2: 13.2 with 3.70 auto FWD and nitrous(Nitrous & FWD SVX record) Tomssvx: 13.93 with S/C 3.90 6 spd. (S/C 6 spd. SVX record) Benebob: 14.2 with 4.11 auto N/A grassroots racer(4.11 auto N/A SVX record) Tomssvx: 14.5 with 4.11 5 spd. N/A(4.11 5 spd. N/A SVX record) Phastsvx: 14.5 with 4.11 5 spd. turbo (4.11 5 spd. turbo SVX record) Budfreak: 14.9 with 4.44 auto N/A(4.44 auto N/A SVX record) Bwana: 15.3 with stock trans. and gears N/A(3.54 auto N/A SVX record) |
I know Chris has run a 15.2 on stock gears before... He said he did on chat earlier today...

we need a forum called "The Sticky Forum" :p
|
we need a competition section... specifically for racing (sanctioned events of course), and 1/4 times etc etc

No, there is some information and answers in the Chris shop forum that makes for an easy search. We want to leave it up there.
Chris RSVX [he should be called R1100 now  ] is right. We actually do need a Competition Forum, and we will have one, hopefully soon. Do you think we could see a sub 10 second SVX before the year is out?? Joe:D |

Our stripped down racer is just as close to being PA inspectable (sans emissions but Dave lives in a county that doesn't have emissions) as your daily driver that doesn't have annual inspections down in that beltway state.:D A competition section would be nice as competition and mods are not one and the same. Oh do you think I could get my new ride into the subaru challenge if I put a WRX emblem on it... It would be great to beat you with yet again but this time with a lawn mower engine and cable driven drum brakes front and rear! |

If you can get a real live driver in there.
For the sake of fair play, it's gotta have a jockey on board. Riderless horses passing the finish line don't count.:D |
I'd think if you took the RaceCar or SVreX II and put a turbocharged/standalone tuned EG33 in it you might have a chance at 10 second 1/4 miles times. I don't think that sub 10 second is in the cards...(love to be proven wrong!)

Re: SVX Straight line performance
Apparently my '95 runs a 15.9@86.4mph
But has 194awhp and will do .96g's while power braking to 1500rpms. Oh, it also pulls 5 lengths on my Ebony (which ran a 16 flat @ 89mph). Not to mention, it pulls 6+ lengths on a stock 2004 Nissan Sentra SE-R SpecV. and even pulled 1-2 lengths on a stock Nissan 350z (I account this more to a bad driver, but thats still respectable.) Dynolicious is a bunch of croc! :( Dustin |

Re: SVX Straight line performance
God, do I want the N/A record so bad I can taste it.....:D
-Bill (considering the value of working a second job solely to provide $ for the "Hydra Fund" ......"But, honey, it makes the car safer....no more stalling!") |

Re: SVX Straight line performance
I have to say that I really enjoyed reading that little piece of discussion:D
So, if I read Ben's comments correctly, all I have to do is get Racer X into the high13s  -Bill |
Re: SVX Straight line performance
I recently did a 16.25 in a bone stock auto, dynoed at 107kw atw running 235/45/17 tyres apparently they are slightly bigger than stock and my reaction time was bad so i can improve one day

AND HAVE IT SOLO 1 PREPARED LEGAL! SORRY ROCKET BOY, YOU DON'T COMPLY NOW!:), Tire sizing, make that intake proper, sorry no chip mapping need apply, got your 10 point, got a log book, got your burn suit, got your legal seat, etc., etc., etc., etc. and most importably got your driver able to avoid that brick wall!:). Better get to work on the car rather than that part time job to pay for it.:) Merry Christmas Bill! The car will be back this year in the climbing seen OR it will be going to someone who will ensure it continues on its current path! I won't let a car sit for more than a year, will you Wally?:) |

Funny you should bring that up, Ben. I'm thinking that it won't take much to make the SVreX street legal (I actually have the title for it!). Just got a "worked" valve body from NeedforSpeed, so I'm thinking the 'reX is the car to take the NA/auto 1/4 mile time record away from BudFreak ;) -Bill p.s. what, exactly, do you think RacerX wouldn't comply with for FP? (too lazy right now to check the SCCA rule book) |
Re: SVX Straight line performance
Quote:
As for not being FP I listed a few for ya, however you're confusing yourself even more, FP be Solo 2, not solo 1. Solo 1 is a whole different classing and rule system. The Solo 1 rule book was like a 150 page download just for the car classes and rules! Chipping, remapping and getto size wheels and tires are left too the street classes. Remember we will be running a 4 speed manual dictated by the rules not allowing for more gears than was OEM.:D |
Re: SVX Straight line performance
Take it with a grain of salt:
Dynolicious (which has ALWAYS posted slower than actual times) timed me at a 14.93 @ 92.8mph in my '95!! I'm not saying I think I ran faster than that, but I would bet money on me running atleast a real 14.9! Was also on a full tank of gas. :D Dustin |
Re: SVX Straight line performance
There's a 12.679 with a 75 shot posted on dragtimes.com.

SVX Straight line performance
When I type a reply or post a new thread all of the characters go in a straight line and dont appear in page form until it is posted. This is making is really difficult to read and edit my posts. Is there a way to fix this?

I"ll try to break the NA stock auto record if I get the Hydra in a set this summer. Local drags are less than 15mins from my house. Last year I finally took the car down and with no spare, full tank, and no junk in the car weighing in a 3720lbs I hit my best time on my second run with.... umm... where did I put those slips?! Oh well I think it's in my sig but it was 16 flat(I think it was exactly 16.002) @ I beleive 86.xxMPH. -Gaddis |
