List what's wrong with your SVX(s)

We haven't done this is a while, so here goes:

- Lifter stuck. Produces the loudest ticking noise known to humankind, increases in speed and volume with rpms
- Tires are horrible and deflating from wear
- CEL on, haven't checked this time but assuming knock sensors and O2 sensors as that's what it was before I most recently reset it
- Brakes pads are at approx 5% (guess, but I'm close)
- I get like 12 mpg. When gas is 115.9/L, that sucks. 2xx miles on $60?
- Driver's side wiper blade broken, passenger side doesn't press flat to window
- Battery is an old POS. Does not start in the cold without car being plugged in
- PW control in driver's door doesn't control front passenger window
- Missing engine cover plastic screw
- Ashtray pocket and ashtray door backing snapped
- Trunk release lever stopped doing anything (?) and lever came off
- Gap in the bottom of the Double DIN slot
- No beauty skirt around my head unit
- Trunk lining peeled away from taillight backing causes taillights to fill up with condensation, and trunk to get wet and smelly
- Loose dog food filling up my spare tire well (don't ask)... made worse by the moisture.

But the tranny still shifts smoothly, and I've fixed the other problems that I've had up to this point. I love my car, and with a little TLC and a LOT of cash it will be back to normal.

Torn CV Boot, Rear wheel bearings sound dry. But holding off on these right now since I'll prob be putting in a 5 spd in the coming months. I have all the parts to do the repairs tho.

SVX10 04-06-2006 11:10 AM

Peeling clearcoat
Driver's side rear wheel bearing (soon to be fixed)
Inner tie rod ends worn (soon to be fixed if I could get the stupid locking plate loose)
Floppy center console
Various burnt out LEDs on dash
Cracked engine cover
Seeping engine seals (all of 'em...more than normal)
Worn belts (soon to be fixed)
Exhaust leaks

Despite all that, still great to driver :)

Earthworm 04-06-2006 11:28 AM

- Rust on panels where bodywork was done
- needs new paint
- brake master cylinder needs rebuild, system flush

shelfy 04-06-2006 11:52 AM

-inoperable security system
-broken driver's side seat belt clip
-detached trunk liner
-crack in center console behind storage lid

SVX-FF 04-06-2006 11:53 AM

Left half shaft bad.
mirror defrosters do not work.
Struts starting to get soft.
Paint missing on rear spoiler.
Two different head lights.
Alignment out.

But TRANNY is BRAND NEW AND WORKING!!!!!!!!!!

Ok this may take a while-

-Odd rattle coming from front passenger wheel area at slow speeds
-Tires dont hold air even though they are brand new and have be remounted
-cracked rim
-Large rusty spot of front fender
-messed up rear passenger side skirt
-Missing engine cover
-Tranny sometimes refuses to come out of park
-drivers seat wont move forward
-Annoying buzz from bad cat
-Shifts hard from first to second at slow speeds
-BB gun shots in passenger fender, hood, and door
-Dents and paint scrapes in passenger side from neighbors kids
-Wiper stick is on the fritz
-Two speakers are burnt out
-Rims are all scraped up
-drivers side suspension is missing a spacer
-passenger side suspension is missing the same spacer and needs a new strut mount
-Wing is chipped severely
-black top is getting an odd pattern in its clearcoat
-rear window defrost has 2 broken strips
-drivers seat is ripped and cracked along the bottom from high heals and the use of duct tape to cover holes

But my sun visors arent floppy :) Most of my problems are cosmetic and will be fixed in due time. Even with all its issues and testiness she still is awesome to drive. After all it is an SVX. I'm waiting to move out before i put alot of work into it cosmetically, my neighbors kids have put scratches or dents in it three different times. NO sense in fixing it when its just gonna get messed up again.

My Claret:

-Crack in windsheild all the way at the bottom on the black.
-Possibly bad trans mount
*-Needs front seals/ valve cover gaskets
*-left rear wheel bearing noisy intermittently
*-bad struts
-Many dings/scars from previous owners
-Could use new front tires
-Aftermarket exhaust buzzes too often...
*-warped rotors

*= fixes are in the works.. may be completed before Reading.

the good:
Runs and drives great. NO RUST. Everything else pretty much works as it should. From sunvisors to stereo to seats.

The list is too long:(

intellibomb 04-06-2006 01:09 PM

everything on mine is pretty good..
good tranny engine etc

BUT

BROKEN SWAY BAR LINK RIGHT FRONT (**** TOW TRUCK DRIVERS)
some leakeys here and there

body damage where i had an *ahem* accident

otherwise the best car ever still

mikecg 04-06-2006 01:38 PM

1) Boost leak
2) 6-Speed gear ratios to close together
3) slipping alt belt.

Dont you wish you had my troubles.:D

Phast SVX 04-06-2006 01:43 PM

1) rip in bumer, dent in rear 1/4
2) need to finish exhaust
3)sick of the stock radio

dcarrb 04-06-2006 01:59 PM

1) The fluid line to the rear washer nozzle is either broken or disconnected. Came this way and I've just never fixed it, as I rarely need the rear wiper.

2) Light in rear defroster button inop.

3) Paint (specifically clearcoat) not exactly in showroom condition. Cosmetically I'd say she's in slightly better than average shape for her age.

That's it. (Gently knocking on wood.)

So there's a rear washer nozzle, you say? I filled the back reservoir but it never did anything so I haven't thought about it since. Hahaha. Where is the nozzle? I don't think I have ever seen it.

Also, I forgot to mention my sagging visors and my chipped/loose spoiler.

Nozzle is part of the wiper base. Mine didn't work because the hose was kinked. Works now.
