How can you wire up a door unlock/lock switch in a 92?

Exactly that. I got a door unlock/lock switch, along with the wiring harness out of a 95. Now how can I wire it up to my 92 and make it function? I hate not having a switch... Thanks -Dennis

I got a switch too and some harness from a 95 in hopes of getting it wired up. That is way down on my list though. Hope you get this done so I can copy you. :)

Yeah, I mean they are power locks... so you would assume that you could wire the switch up to them somehow. But how, that is the ultimate question. The button on my shifter surround is so lonely not being used!

It's real easy. Just pull the glove box and find the security module. Then tap into the door lock/unlock wires on that.

I can't remember if it's a hot switch or a ground switch, so you'd have to use a DMM to figure that out, but when you do, just tap in and poof, you have a door lock switch :)

...i like the switch on the door  ;)

Which switch are you referring to? nevermind

Will this still work if the security module doesnt work? I mean my electronic locks still work, but my security system doesnt work...

techy101 05-26-2008 06:18 PM

Yes it will. All the switch is doing is closing the contact between hot (or ground, I cant remember which) and the lead to the door lock actuator, and completing the circuit.

My security had a sticker with the pinout right on the module so it was real easy.

mysvxrocks 05-26-2008 06:21 PM

Dang, Ive got 3 modules, and none of them work/have that sticker

I dont even know what to look for. I dont know much about electronics...

And what is this DMM?

BTW: did you use the same switch as a 94+? because its got multiple wires on it... and I dont know what wire is for what.

Here's an easy fix: Just use emblem tape to stick a key fob in the shifter bezel.

mysvxrocks 05-26-2008 07:29 PM

Well I cant do that. One I dont have a keyfob. Second, my security module doesnt work, so I couldnt even use it if I had it.

Hondasucks 05-26-2008 10:59 PM

you could wire it to the switch in the door if all else fails, the driver's door lock actuator has a switch in it, that's how the doors unlock when you pull the lock button up.

I hate not having the lock/unlock button in the car, but I paid the $45 for the key fob from work so I just use that lol

Here's the security connector diagram:

Alright Im not sure I follow that picture. What wires would I have to splice into?

Here is a picture of the wiring harness... Could someone tell me what wires I would need to use in order for this to function?

Theres a black one (I assume ground) Two red ones, one solid, and one with a black line on it, and two orange ones, one solid, and one with a green line on it.
