Winter tires on RX7 rims FS
Well, the final thing to go from Lorna's 97 is a nearly new set of top rated Viking winter tires by Continental on a nice set of RX7 rims(not sure if they're forged or not but are very light).
Tires may have 2500 miles at most on them and were not on the car when it was totaled. Any interest now that winter's finally here? |
Do you have a set price or are you accepting offers?
|
Just remembered about them and just getting over jet lag so will figure it out in an hour or 2. Fire away with offers in the meantime. I think they're 215/55s but will check.
And these handle 80% as well as the summer Avons. I have them on all our cars and they really stick in the dry. |
If I can afford it, I'd be interested.
Just wonder how much and any pics? Would you take two hundreds shipped to 26505 ? Thanks. |
That might almost cover the tires...I think I have about 600ish into the package.
You've seen what motorsports gets for their rim set, no? http://svx-motorsport-accessories.st...et/rxrims.html Tires are about 275. +shipping new, rims go for a few 100 on ebay when you can find them. I'll figure something equitable out but my guess is they're beyond your budget. |
OK, 475. + the cheapest shipping possible.
I can sell tires or rims alone also. 175/tires, 300. rims. Photos soon, but they are clean and rash free if I recall. |
I think I may pass. Sorry if I don't know about the price of the snow tires. :)
Last winter(maybe), Alan sold a set of his used snow tires with wheels for only 200 here. The conditions was pretty good and so I just began with that deal. I don't really want to get winter tires for my SVX unless I see a good deal. I can still get around pretty good with my 4yrs bald tires on the heavy snow night last sunday. I think I can also find a set of stock size new tires for my SVX around 300 of everything with mount-and-balance. If I am to spend more than 500, I might as well add another 200+ and I think I can find a set of nice 17" wheels with tires for a new look. |
I checked on RX7 sites and these rims with worn tires go for about 400-500. and these tires are like new.
You may find a nice 17" rim but each one will weigh 7-14# more than these lightweights (13#ea?). Pray for sunshine! |
Thanks for checking out.
I don't really bother about the extra weight that much. I have a buddy who works at the shop in town that selling wheels, tires. I m pretty sure for 699-799 I could get a set of brand new 17" wheels tires with everything included if I want. :D |
So about 30-40% in price and wieght. You could even do better for new rims on ebay.
Unsprung rotating weight is highly overlooked even on a porker like an svx. I noticed a difference in bump response even with these rims and fairly light winter tire. I put ROJA 16# 17s on our Forester XT and WOW, what a difference but the XT is way under-tired from the factory. Just fyi. Have you seen the Bimmer guys dropping 2500-4000. for forged Hamann rims? yikes.! |
I matched the size to our 225/50s so diameter is almost exact. Winter tires should be narrower than summers. Pics today.
Click on the black car on this page for a photo in the meantime. http://www.cargurus.com/Cars/Picture...994-RX-7.html# |

The highly sought after lightweight RX7 rims are almost svx spec exactly(thus 16"s) and they bolt up perfectly. I still have been too crazy busy to check the size but they are most likely 215/55/16s-any wider and you defeat the purpose of winter tires. Have pics and will post tomorrow. |
Photos finally: ignore the remaining dirt, it's not rust, only washable grime. 2 rims have a couple spots of curb kiss but could be filed smooth. Tires are like new, well less 2000 miles.
