" n/a but intercooled thread" closed.

It is unfortunate that some silly remarks may have unwittingly denigrated the originator of the thread which has been closed, whereas respect and only timely advice was due . :(

I fear that as result he could feel very much put down. In this respect he should be reassured and is due an apology. In this respect he sincerely has one from me.

+1. It was a legitimate question, there was no need for some of the replies it got.

I didn't see waht closed it, but at least this thread has some redeeming quality to it. Every question deserves an honest answer.

NiftySVX 09-12-2007 09:33 PM

I was actually typing a reply when it was closed, I stated that the person didn't know, that is why he posted. There is no need to get so mean spirited and degrading towards one another. This is why i strayed from posting on this site for 3 years until recently. Someone was rude to me, and it turned me off of this site. I encourage all questions, just like we did back in the yahoo days of this thing. Let's all compliment each other's knowledge when we can, pose our questions and show everyone who has an SVX what sort of community we have, I'm proud of what we've built in the 8 years I have been part of it.

Group HUG!:D

I apologize for being a smart ass. Really though, before you can think up these questions you need to have some background to what these parts do and how they are applicable. I dunno, it was silly but I found myself beating my head against the wall looking at some of the responses in addition to the original question

You don't get out much do you?

Seems you guys can't even remotely bust someone's balls around here for being a ricer or asking very stupid questions without someone (mostly senstivity boy trevor) making a thread like this crying about it. I know it's a family oriented G-rated warm fuzzy site but damn, I mean it's just the internet.. relax.

msvx95 09-13-2007 05:18 AM

So you attempted to answer cruiser's question after he first asked it in the locked thread and then you go on to say the thread is stupid....are you here to help or just act foolish? Some people want to know answers my friend and I think the vagina picture is a little distasteful. I would hope the moderators put a stop to inappropriate pictures like that.

P.S. Trevor is very helpful on this site and probably one of the most polite guys I know of. So keep your opinions of others to yourself if you don't have anything nice to say about them.

LetItSnow 09-13-2007 05:26 AM

Motion to move on?

msvx95 09-13-2007 05:27 AM

I'd say.....mmmmmm Next :)

Brian,

There surely are balls which need busting. :( Significantly I am unable to find that required between your legs, even though you leave yourself wide open in this respect. :p

svxistentialist 09-14-2007 04:59 AM

I think the original question was a straight request for opinion and information. However, the answers in some cases were less than courteous.

Brian's point about slagging off people and ricers [a sub-species:rolleyes::D] is OK by me up to a point, I like a joke, life's too short.:bash:

In fairness, when a joke is being put forward it's a great help if the person the joke is on knows the score. If they don't it comes across as rude or an insult.

Cruisen, the air-to-air type intercooler you mention is only used to cool down compressed and heated air from a charger [turbo or super] so the engine gets more oxygen and so makes more power.

It is commonly accepted that even in an engine being pressurised at 5 or 6 lbs, the gains in cooling from such an intercooler are nixed out by the distance of the plumbing and pipework and the pressure loss across the intercooler.

So this implies that to put the system on a non-pressurised [NA]engine you will suffer the intercooler loss without gaining the extra power the pressure pump [aka charger] would give the engine.

However, if you want to go this road, maybe you should look at water injection or water/methanol injection. It should work an oxygen improvement for a NA engine because of the cooling effect of the latent heat of vaporization.

Joe:)

Joe,

Why the obtuse whitewash, unfortunately from one who has assumed a position as a moderator? :(

Just why is it OK to slag of any member within these forums in any shape or form, much less with the aid of inappropriate images? N.B. Your assessment of what is an acceptable joke is not confirmed by others within this thread.

The point is that the post DID COME ACROSS AS “A RUDE INSULT”. What is more the recipient of the insult had only recently joined our ranks. :(

Read this, Brian’s post again; note the included sarcasm, and how directly it is addressed :-

“You don't get out much do you?

Be very sure this “boy trevor” is no prude. The sarcastic personal insult directed at me is witless to the extent that it is of no concern. However the remainder of the tirade was hurtful to the another member. This fact, is well confirmed, as of grave concern.

There are those who value a “family oriented G-rated warm fuzzy site”, and I am confident that it is they who have contributed the most to its success. Decline is a slippery slope. Resistance requires fortitude.

Joe, we have lady members here. They will not object to, and may even contribute with the odd bawdy joke, but have you no sense of propriety?

Sincerely, Trevor. ;)

Trevor, I take exception to this interpretation of my post.

You opened this thread to complain about the closing of the original thread.

Implication: Over strict moderation.

WE mods follow a policy of hands off where possible, and in that spirit I mentioned that I tolerate jokes and jibes "up to a point". I then go on to make the case that a joke that is not appreciated by the target can be an insult and you then castigate me for treating the matter lightly?

Implication: Not strict enough moderation.

Exactly which way do you want it?

Respectfully

Joe
