Help please!

Hello,
My crankshaft pulley came loose and the belts came off as I was driving, and I put the belts back on. It looks like there was supposed to be a key to hold the pulley in place for timing purposes? Now that I have the belts back on, everything turns but it won't fire. Does anyone know what's wrong? Is the timing off maybe? Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you.

Check again the alignement of the timing belt. It won't fire if is misplaced.
Let us know if you need the timing marks.
Mkey?

Hey,
Thanks for your reply, but it wasn't the timing belt that came off. the two accessory belts in the front (power steering, a/c, alternator) are the ones that came off. any thoughts? Thanks again.

I'm hoping you replaced the key? It makes a huuuge difference. Also make sure the belts didn't destroy any wiring when they came off, such as a cam sensor, etc....

Beav, I wasn't sure if there was supposed to be a key. Is there? Because there is a little groove in the pulley, but I didn't see one when I put the belts back on. Thanks.

Without the key the t-belt sprocket will spin on the crank snout. Be sure to check all keyways (grooves) for damage before inserting a key, otherwise your new key won't last long.
