i need both of the universal joints in the steering shaft between the firewall and gearbox. can't seem to find them on subarupart.com. can anyone help out here?

There is only one u-joint in the steering system. It's #34160PA010. Retail price is $212.85 and Subaru only shows 4 of them in the whole country.

On subaruparts.com in the "Power steering system, pump and tank" section it is #5.

Budfreak: Is the U-joint you're replacing worn-out, or damaged? Just curious. Not something I'd expect would fail.

i believe it's just worn out. has over in inch of play in the steering. it weaves all over the road and it's annoying on long drives. starting to make popping noises every now and again too.

Have you already confirmed it's not a tie-rod end or free play in the rack?

yes had the tie rods and all checked out and i've checked too. they seem tight and fine. you can move the steering shaft a pretty big amount and the dealership told me that was what it needed.
