A new NW SVX site!

Hey all! It's been hinted at a bit over the last couple weeks and now it is finally here! Our very own home page for keeping tabs on NW SVX happenings and our unofficial little club.

http://www.geocities.com/troybillett/NorthwestSVX.html

It's still a work in progress but I finally got enough of the pages going that I figured you'd all get the idea. I just thought we needed a site to give us in the NW a little more identity and one place where we could quickly go for up to date information on meets, etc. :) It is also a great place to refer new people to (like with the business cards left on parked cars) so they can see a bit of a presentation about us before they go straight into the forums. I know some of us have been placing cards on windows for years and in my memory I don't think I've ever seen one person from the NW join up and say it was from someone leaving a card on their SVX. :( It may be just bad luck or most of the folks out there don't have interest beyond just driving their car to work. But I question in the back of my mind if maybe they log on here once, get confused or intimidated by all the forums, and leave. It may be hard for some people to just pop in and post for the first time. This new site gives them a chance to read up on us, see some of our past meets, see who we are, etc. Then give them the option of going to the forums. :)

On that note though, please don't print up a bunch of business cards with the above URL. I am working on getting our own web address, which also won't have the pop up ads. I will post as soon as this happens. In the meantime, keep checking out the site, I will be updating it often!!!

Troy,

I didn't know you were working on a site for the Northwest (probably because I don't read the NW forums).

If you like I can give you access to the network server so you can put it there.

It would be www.svxworldnetwork.org/northwest

this way we can make sites for all the regions of the world and links from the main site to it.

Doug - NO ONE really knew much about what I was doing (including me) until it happened.:D

I specifically kept this as removed from the official club as possible as well. Wasn't sure what the board's stand would be on things like this, so at this point the site is just a place for some of us NW owners to hang out.

But certainly my long term goal was to see this become a part of what you are describing, a regional site of the greater organization. And our NW group becoming "The NW chapter of the SVX World Network".

We'll continue this discuss in PM... :)
