After Market Alarms, Starter
Hey,
Has anyone had good luck with aftermarket alarms/remote starters for our cars? If so, Model? Cost? Any problems? Thoughts? Thanks |
alarms
just fitted a Viper here in Oz..no remote start but is an add on module if wanted [extra $100 /$150 AUD]..but passive lock [just walk away and it locks], ignition kill if messed with, auto door locks on go, shock and "tilt' sensor, silent alarm set if required, panic if needed when in or out of the car, and a few other goodies, overall works very well, has a huge range with remote, and has switchable via remote "valet on/off....all these things are probably std fair on new alarms..just over $600 AUD fitted, my new SVX wasn't fitted with an alarm...all the Oz models were fitted with varying local alarms when delivered ..except my car !!

I've seen harnesses for alarms that allow you to to plug right into the factory harness so you don't have to splice any wires for Fords, GMs Mitsu's...
I wonder if there is one for our car... It would make installing a alarm (with remote start) a piece of cake... Plug and play... Anyone know of a harness that will allow us to do that? |
I don't think there is hardness like that for an svx. Until recently there was no radio wiring hardness for a svx.

Alpine?
Anyone have an Alpine alarm? I've been thinking about getting one (my SVX has no alarm). As far as installation goes, would it be harder to put one in since I don't already have one?

The SVX is probably the easiest car to install an alarm on once you know some of it's qwuirks and tricks. took me about 2 and a half hours to put mine in (with remote start), which is about average |
