I'm not really sure I like the Idea of an "OFF Topic Forum” I thought that "General Babble" was fine. OT was usually marked such and then could be ignored, read and then ignored, or just outright flamed (if necessary)...

Mind you I'm not mad and will not start a "war" about this... I just think that yet another forum where the possibility of discussing volatile issues is not what this whole site was about. I'm a little worried about the "neon thing" and the "Christian thing" that have recently reared their ugly (to me at least) heads... the neon thing could be funny..(to a point) But the Religion issue should be rethought IMO (sorry Steve). I made the mistake of voicing my opinion about religion early so I won't be a hypocrite about someone else... I just think that there might be better venues for religious discussion (and neon discussions too!)

The one thing that most of us have in common is the SVX even most of the “OT” threads in “general babble” got around to that subject at some point… That’s what this place is about… Not about Neons, not about gods (unless it’s someone praying to the tranny god) Feelings and emotions were and continue to be important. I’m sorry the Hijack thread has been relegated to off topic… I still think it’s on topic… the topic of us, the SVX community, and how we relieve our stress and express ourselves…

That’s my protest and I will try to make it the last time I comment on what the Admin has done here… I think that they do a great job and deserve a lot of credit for keeping this site on track. Please don’t interpret this, as in any way, an attack toward anyone. It’s just my opinion and it’s free….(and worth what’s ya paid)

I absolutely agree with you, Mitch. How many layers of off-topic forums do we need?

I laughed when I saw Rob's Neon thread, but I agree with you that it (the forum, not Rob's thread - I haven't read it) has very quickly gotten out of hand.

I don't want to censor people, but I worry that a forum like the one which has been created will create too much of a focus on what divides us, rather than what brought us together in the first place.

I, for one, will try to stay the hell away from that forum. Maybe that's why it was created - so that people who don't want to read the stuff don't have to. But I still think it's more likely to divide us than bring us together.

I'm starting to feel the same way. :(

I think it's a great place to put the items that you or I don't have an interest in reading. It puts it out of the way where, people who want to view it can but I don't have to go there. I knew Rob would post a Neon thing there and I went looking for it, posted a quick remark, (as a joke) and left. I may or may not ever head there again. This way I will not see the things that I may not want to see. It's perfect for my needs. Keep smiling everyone.
