Dash Switch Light Bulbs
Can anyone give me the Radio Shack catalog model numbers for the bulbs and the little green sleeves which go behind the switches on the dash? I've searched through the threads and cant find it. I know it was posted, but I don't think it was here on the Network. I think it was on the old Yahoo SVX club site. When Yahoo went to Groups, the old posts disappeared.

#272-1092 for the bulbs. You'll need to use the original sleeves, so be careful when removing them from the old bulbs, they tear easily.

you can get the new sleeves if you order the bulbs from subaruparts.com.
They come with the dash bulbs for the switches. You just have to make sure you get the correct number. There are green ones and yellow ones. |
Thanks guys.

LarryIII You should know that we have you covered in the good ol How-To Documents. Just go to the lights folder and there it will be. ;) :) :)

Earl,
I did download your "Light" info from the "how to" section. Thanks for posting it. However, it has the part numbers for the official Suubaru bulbs. Since we are redoing the kitchen (including appliances + countertop) I'm trying to save some money by using Radio Shack bulbs. PS: Earl, I did not see the part numbers for the neon tube bulbs for the SVX Sign in the "how to" section. :D :D |
I get it now. Are you going with the 1000 points of light theme? It should work just fine and the best place to put the Red Top battery to make those bad boys twinkle is behind the toaster. The Beautiful Naviguesser will be so proud of you. ;) :D :D

Ahhhh Changing dash light colors....Sleeves BAH who needs 'em!!
Krylon makes a "stained glass" spray paint. Just remember to mask the contacts, as this is a good insulator. (don't ask) I did this on "Darlin" to give her blue dash lights, to match my stereo. Another solution is to use the acrylic "suncatcher" paint at the craft store. just dip the glass in the little plasic cup of paint....dunno how long lived this would be tho. |
