It's my understanding that JDM grills are chrome and not body colored.

Or maybe they just were still making silver cars in the later years unlike here.

Yes, that's a JDM grill. Meaning, the grill was on a Japanese Domestic Market car. Is it identical to the grill we got on the 97 SVXs? YES!

Some JDM Models had a chrome version of this grill, but this one is clearly body colored in bright silver.

I bought one from the USA about $130.

Anything from Japan is rarely cheap. They were expensive for parts before the Yen got strong.

Now, I don't even look their direction for stuff.

That's true Seth. ;)

However, being a '97 this grill is painted in the later Bright Silver. Don't know about the States, but over here these are extremely rare.

So the second hand grill will only be a bolt in fix for a very small amount of cars. This Bright Silver will not be a match at all for the earlier and much more numerous Liquid Silver cars.

You have to specially prep the grill as it's raw plastic. Spray bomb will not stick at all. Plus if you would spray bomb it you would have to remove all of it off to get it done right which costs more money.
