Some new bling for the SVX

My new key blank off Ebay:

Looks pretty nice, fits into everything like it should. Doesn't turn, obviously. I'm going to buy a new lock kit before I get it cut. Right now I have one key for the ignition, one for the drivers door, and no key that works in the pass door, trunk, or glove box.

A wee little extravagence, but for $22-something US, not bad. The only problem was that the clear plastic covering of the display case was shattered, and the sticker with the Subaru emblem says "For" in it, which is kind of annoying. Meh.

I've got one of those. They are nice, but I still worry about opening the trunk by the key. I always just unlock it then lift it open by hand. I like the weight of the key, it also looks a lot nicer than the originals, and I think than the STP ones.

Be careful with yours, the part with the Subaru logo in the middle started to yellow on mine (i guess our headlights arent the only thing). I think I can clean it up though and make it look new again.

have you tried some wd40 in the locks you can't open. i had the same problem with my trunk before but the key was the correct key.just that the previous owners didn't open the trunk with the key so i wasted $90 for a locksmith to spray wd40 into the tumbler, put the key in - push in and out with the key, use some pliers to turn the key and that was it. $90.
you might have to do the wd40 and key in and out thing a few times first though
