What else...another transmission problem!
 

Ok, the trans suddenly with no warning revs out in second and will only change into third (very hard shift) near redline. Won't go into fourth I think, didn't really try.
Level 10 valve body and stage 2 kit done about 8000 miles ago, with trans cooler and synthetic mobil one.

Local trans shop said "something broke inside, will have to rebuild $$$.

Any ideas. Just a solenoid maybe? Wishful thinking?

probably not a solenoid. It was sudden though it was never hinted at before??

No prior warning signs. I guess I'll start looking for a used transmission.

Of course just last week I sold my 92 for 1200.00 with a good transmission.

now just to clarify... This is a constant problem now yes??

Try a couple things

1. shift manually through the gears to see if this makes a difference.

2. define if it jumps out of gear spontaneously or just before it shifts to 3rd.

3. Try and isolate all parameters of the car when the problem occurs (throttle position, engine speed, MPH, etc...)

This might help us identifiy exactly what is happening/failing

Manually shifting makes no difference.

Need to rev close to redline in second before it bangs into third.

Found a rebuild trans in MI for 1350.00 plus shipping! Now on order. I'll let you know how that works out in a week or so.

Shifts into second fine, but revs out before banging into third. Don't think it will go into fourth.

The place I order the rebuilt from for 1350.00 is autosportsunlimited.com. They say they rebuild them before shipping.If it all works out it will be a very good deal.

Level 10 has nothing to offer warranty wise??

I only bought the clutch pack kit and valve body from them (Level10) and had them installed during a rebuild in Montreal. Then moved to Toronto, so to far away to get any warranty work done from the place that did the rebuild. That same place did a rebuild on my 92 and I never had a problem with that transmission.
