Tire woes
 

It seems that there's been a rash of tire woes her lately. Considering that it really is important to keep four matched tires on the ground, has anyone considered buying five tires? Include the fifth tire during rotations and you'll have a matched set even if one is ruined (provided that you rotate your tires often.)

Sure.. but we'd actually have to buy 6 tires and 2 extra rims, one for the left, one for the right to have them all wear evenly and keep our wheels pointing the right way :D

Unless you are talking about dismounting/remounting a tire every time, which seems like a lot of work.

Not a bad idea though...just think how long your tires will last that way...

Fortunately, I already have 2 sets, one for summer, one for winter, so in a pinch I could swap the whole set out until I can round up enough cash for 4 new replacements.

Ahh...ya got me on that one! :p I forgot about the rims - there's always a fly in the ointment, isn't there?

I should probably keep my mouth shut for fear of tempting fate, but I guess I lead a charmed life, tire-wise anyway. I haven't had to replace a damaged tire in years.

if the money is not an issue, different set of rims and tires...so what? ;) but, the fact is different... :rolleyes:

one of my tires had a bubble so i had to replace the lot. well another had a slow leak too. anyway bye bye nitto hello bridgestone. they make a much better tire than nitto in my opinion.
