so which is it?

I always see these cars listed as an L or an LSi or an LsL which is it please? Or are there 3 models.I thought it was 2.Can someone clear this up for me please.

Sure! :) What year is it? If it is a 92 or 93, it could be a LS-L, or an L model. If it is a 94 or after, it could be a LSi, or L model. For all of the models and what options the cars have, look in the How-To Documents. Or, you can click here and open up the Options, Models, and Years in this folder. :)

Is it possible for models to be recorded incorrectly?

Apparently I have an LS-L but I have all the standard LSI features except the heated seats. And my insurance company listed my baby as an L (which resulted in a $75 discount so I'm not angry lol).

The guru just said only 92-93's we're LS-L's, so if your talking about the car in your sig that says its a 95, then it's going to be an LSi :)

Thank you ^_^

I hope geico doesn't figure that out >_>

Mine's an SLI according to the state of TN.

Even though it's listed on my insurance as an LSI. Trust me that's given me a fit with the cops when my registration says SLI, and my insurance card says SVX. I just tell them to compare the VINs.

Titles and registrations from various states can be very different from the normal models we are used to. They will usually start with an S, but the other two letters may be anything. I have had SVS and SVI and even X35 which is another Subaru way to identify a particular model.

Even all of my SVXs are LS-L or LSis, they are listed by my insurance agent as L model. :) I don't know why, but they must not have another option. :)

If you SVX is a 95, then it is a LSi. Heated seats did not come on US models. :o

The guru also said that '92s can be L models.

'92 had LS and LS-L only.

;) Just giving Earl a hard time.

And don't forget the 94-95 LS models.

The 94 L and LS were FWD and the LSi was AWD, while the 95s (L and LS) were FWD with AWD offered as part of the Active Safety Group (which added AWD and anti-lock brakes).

All LSi's were AWD with Touring Package

So for the entire US production there were four designations:

1992- LS and LS-L
1993- LS-L
1994- L, LS, LSi
1995- L,LS; LSi
1996- L, LSi
1997- L, LSi
.
