Fuseable link
I did a search in the forum for anything regarding the fuseable link located in the main fuse box(under the hood) I found nothing!
My fuseable link melted today while trying to boost my dead battery. I have no idea why it burned, but it burned. I finally got a ride to go search for a fuseable link to replace mine and no one had it. I went to Autozone, Radio Shack and finally NAPA. At least NAPA had a fuseable link but not one for an SVX, the problem was that the end connectors of the fuseable link that NAPA had were completely different that the ones I needed for the SVX. So I bought it anyway (just to use the wire) and cut off the end connectors that it came with. So I was able to salvage the original end connectors from my fusebale link and I was able to make my own fuseable link(thank god). Just wanted to share my story.:D By the way is there a replacement fuseable link sold somewhere? |
Hi!
I have blown a couple of fusable links on my subies also. The link that blows upon jumpstarts, is often the one between the alternator and the battery (I think :)). I have replaced the wire as you did, but with a similar copper wire from my garage. /Sonny  |
Have you checked Subaruparts.com or 1stsubaruparts.com? I would try there first. :)
