another legacy sdn question

Ok, since my recent broken exhaust bolt fiasco I am noticing something annoying but can't find the source. Exhaust is all bolted up and seems tight no puffs of exhaust leaks around gasket areas etc. I did remove the cold air intake (injen) and reinstalled the original intake hardware (was too loud and no noticeable improvement) I have been seeing low power since original exhaust leak was noticed prior to broken bolt fiasco.

Ok, that should give some of the history, now since the exhaust installation I am hearing a whistle when I step on the throttle. Initially it had to be a hard throttle and happend at 4k rpm today on my way home it was pretty much when the throttle put a load on the engine and it was very low powered. I started the car and hit the throttle at the throttle body and can reproduce the sound but I can't tell where it is coming from. My worry is that air is being sucked in around the exhaust manifold, but not sure why it isn't leaking exhaust out. I have checked all my intake hoses and they are all on but can't seem to find the source of this damn whistle. I did loosen the bolts on the driver's side (where the sound seems to come from) exhaust manifold to the engine and retightend them. Tried several different sequences but not sure if any of them worked because in the driveway it only seems to happen at 4k since it cooled off. Could the manifold be warped and causing this?

are you sure that air box is back together correctly. I had an OB that I didn't put the filter in right once and the bottom of the box was kind of open. Check it out maybe?

I am pretty sure the box is ok, I did consider it as a possible source and unclipped the latches on it to see if the sound would get better or worse but couldn't tell much. I thought maybe it was whistling passed one of the connecting tubes but I used some duct tape to seal those as a check and sound would still happen. Your suggestion makes me want to check the box again, maybe even pull the filter and do a quick check without it.
