burning pulley

Yet more problems on my newly purchased svx, the bottom pulley, has worn out, the rubber layer between inner and outer layers has let go and is slipping and burning, is this a common prob? or an i just cursed:(

I am not aware of this as being a common problem. Maybe you are just cursed, but should not be too hard to fix. :(

Good luck. :)

(both svx's)

It is the crank pulley separating and it is becoming quite common. You can replace it with the same part from subaru or get a one piece lightweight pulley from Dayle (motorsport-svx) on this site.

edit - saw you are in the UK. Not sure where you would get one.
