Battery replaced, security system defunct

So, I had to replace the battery on my '92 SVX today. Now the security system is clicking at constant rate whether the button is in the on or off position. It clicks even when the car is off and locked up. It stops clicking when the car is running or the key is in acc or on.

Does this mean that the battery change has killed the security system or does it just need to be reset? I'm not very good with car mechanics, so is this something that would be fairly easy (changing a fuse) or something more challenging (taking out the security module)?

you need a remote to program it. I dont know if you can shut it off without getting one, unless you pull a fuse.I think it was a recall or a tsb on the security module. the new ones dont go into program mode. try a search too youll find more answers. and in the howto documents.

Apparently the parking lights have been flashing as the module clicks since I put the new battery in the car. The remotes have never worked for me and I've never been able to get into programming mode. I hate to think that the security system is going to keep flashing the lights and draining my new battery.

Do I have to get new remotes? How can I unplug the fuse?

i dunno what fuse it is but put some batts in the remote...every car i ever got had dead batts in it.

Nope, already put new batteries in the remotes. :(

Security

Have you been able to start it?

Yes you do have to reprogram your module.

If you do not have your fob, what i did was i just disconnected the module.

if your car does not start, look for the relay.
