In that second pic the airbag isn't bolted into the steering wheel causing the gap and the cruise does work.

Here is what I am working on now.

is that the same size steering wheel as the stock?
and what exactly is the first picture? i'm trying to figure that out

Looks like an oil cooler.

Nice wheel. I dunno if I could give up my push button horn for that honk in the middle stuff.

sicksubie 01-31-2007 06:32 PM

Yeah it's the same size as the original in terms of the diameter. It's sleeker looking though. In one of the pics it looks worn at the top, but it is actually in mint condition and has almost zero wear on it. The first pic is the tranny cooler mounted diagonally in the driver side fenderwell underneath where the battery USED to sit.

The seats are gonna be tricky because of how high they sit, but I'll make them work. :D

Hmm...square seats in a very curvy car....Something in me just thinks that won't look too good. Loving the wheels though

P.S.- 1970 called..it want's it's carpet back;) :p

I test fit them in the car and I think that they looked great. Yeah I know about the carpet:( . I still live at home and commute to school so I don't have much of a choice. You should have seen the forest green shag carpet we had upstairs. It's finally gone cuz I just redid our entire upstairs.

are those wrx seats? they mount up? or do you need modification... I have been dying to swap my seats for STI or WRX seats so any info will be a great help!

sicksubie 02-02-2007 12:56 PM

They are brand new 2003 wrx seats. The problems that you will encounter when you try to put these seats or STi seats in are: 1. They sit a lot higher. The fix: shorten the legs on the seat rails where they bolt to the floor. 2. Based on a quick test fit the only attaching point that will need some serious modification is the rear inside mounting point. Nothing that a cutting wheel and a welder can't fix though. I won't be posting pics of the install any time soon though because I won't actually be doing the install for a few weeks here. Maybe sooner but with school and all..... :(

Leather seats that have very little lateral support, have lost their support/springiness, and have a couple of tears. VS. Cloth seats that are VERY comfortable, very good lateral support, brand new ( no tears or wear marks), and did I mention significantly lighter.

Given a choice I would take the leather seats. I've found that after spending some time in an SVX with cloth seats I am actually more comfortable in the leather seats.

sicksubie 05-21-2007 07:11 PM

I love leather too, BUT..... My seats were dying quickly and did not have the lateral support that I want. BTW I am putting in a WRX back seat too so that the interior will match.
