Carroll Shelby, has passed into history.
:(
The Tall Texan has moved on. http://autos.yahoo.com/blogs/motoram...200041629.html He was a hero to many of us, including me. The world is a more exciting place because He was here. Rest In Peace. |
Re: Carroll Shelby, has passed into history.
That's sad news indeed. He had a good run though.

Re: Carroll Shelby, has passed into history.
He was truly the driving force behind many of the iconic muscle cars of our time. RIP Carroll.

He really pissed off Ferrari in 1964! And I love him for it. One of the best stories in racing. No big sponsors, no corporations, no bull. A Cowboy hat, overall wearin' Texan and a few SoCal Hot Rodders beat Mr. Ferrari at his own game, on his own turf. http://www.thetruthaboutcars.com/200...-ferrari-wars/ |

One of the modern greats.

Re: Carroll Shelby, has passed into history.
One of my heroes, and one of the greats. I hope he got to drive the 1000hp mustang they just came out with. I saw an interview where he said he was planning to do the top speed run in it...

Re: Carroll Shelby, has passed into history.
Having grown up with his rise to fame in the 60's, I didn't realize the loss I would feel.

Re: Carroll Shelby, has passed into history.
THE ONE CAR I've wished to own since I was kid: A 1967 Shelby Mustang GT-500. Settled for a pedestrian '68 Mustang 289 hardtop and drove the wheels off that.
Later developed quite a hankerin' for his chili mix. (Still available? Came in a brown paper bag-type package.) RIP, sir. dcb |
