Polishing the fake wood?

Hey all, have any of you polished the fake wood trim? What have you used?

Wood Polishing

I have used Armor All on my fake wood. I'm not sure if that what you are supposed to use but it always makes it nice and shiny. I used the wipes :)

I always use fake wood polish. :D :D

I prefer to have someone else polish my wood. :D However, I have not been happy with the Armorall as the scratches remain. I have been thinking about using some polyurathane to coat it. I think it may hide the scratches. Heck it even come with UV protectant.

I prefer baby oil when I polish my wood but...oh!...you were talking about the wood in the SVX weren't you? :o Since the wood in the SVX is merely plastic you should treat it as any plastic in your car. Probably Armor All or an equivalent cleaner would do the trick nicely. It sure would be sweet if we could manufacture replacement trim made of real burled walnut. Then I could polish my wood in the SVX with babyoil or pledge. :D :p

I use the same Novus products I use on my headlights for the interior faux wood trim. I've used the number 2 (fine scratch romover) to successfully remove scratches from around the cig lighter, and then, used the number 1 (clean and shine) to shine it up.

Baby oil.

Turtle wax Vinyl stuff

To polish the fake wood, I suggest that you first clean it with some kind of kitchen, multi-surface cleaner (Windex, Endust, etc.) that you can buy in the grocery store. Be cafare not to get any on the fake suede or leather. Then you can use some kind of plastic polish. Ask the wives what they use to clean & polish the formica counters or tabletops in the kitchen.

Can you get Brasso over there? Brings it up beautifully
