New Outback
We are both very disapponted withthe styling of the 2010 OUTBACK.
It is now much bigger and heavier looking more crossover type like the Forester than station wagon type, like the Legacy. We have had '96, & '97 Outbacks and currently have a 2007 OB XT. The styling cues seem to be taken from Chevy Tahoe, Toyota Highlander, and Ford Edge. I walked around one yesterday morning as it was being prepared for the showroom floor. I definitely do not like the styling.:( |
Re: New Outback
I don't like them either as we have a few at work. The new 2010 Legacy isn't bad, I like how the fenders flare out.

Re: New Outback
I saw the 2010 Outback as well and was unimpressed. It looked to me more like a crossover and less like a car.

Re: New Outback
Once upon a time Subaru actually designed some of the cleanest wagons in the world. Now they don't even make a Legacy Wagon. I guess they couldn't keep up with the Volvo's, BMWs and other upscale wagons they want to so much be associated with that they simply stopped making it in favor of an updated AMC Eagle.
Yet another reason why my next car purchase will be a Ford product. That is unless Ford unloads Volvo before then. |
Re: New Outback
Nobody ever likes the styling of any new Subarus. They take a while to grow on you, I think in few months or years it will look better to us.

Re: New Outback
I just saw a green 2010OBW at the dealer tonight and I liked it. I didn't get out to look at it but I do like it.

Re: New Outback
Got my first up close look today. Subaru is gonna let me drive one on Saturday.

Re: New Outback
I think the new styling is awful. The giant fender flares make the wheels, no matter what size, look too small.

Re: New Outback
the new seats are awesome, but no turbo so i'll be keeping my 05 obxt

Re: New Outback
Have to agree with Green....
Not enjoying the new Legacy or Outback styling at all. As a 2005 Legacy GT owner who went back to SVX, I obviously tend to prefer the sleeker designs. This is the opposite direction. Instead of being an alternative to the mainstream, they seem to be hell bent on copying the mainstream. The EZ36 engine is a nice NA piece... but I can't help but wonder what an EG33 updated to current spec would be like, and possibly turbocharged. Seeing as Ford, Nissan, and others are adding turbos to 6-cylinders lately. :D A 20th Anniversary SVX for 2012 would be something worth looking forward to, I think. :D Bring sleek design, original thinking, and a high-value feature list back to Subaru. |
