92 silver 5 speed $2500 SOLD

State SVX is in: Ohio

Year: 1992

Model: SVX LSL

Paint Color: silver/black

Interior Color: Grey (Leather)

Miles: 107k

AWD or FWD: AWD 5 speed

Modifications: Dayles CAI, ECUTune Stage 1 Chip, R1concepts Slotted/Drilled rotors, SS brake lines, clear headlights lenses, jdm signals. All speakers upgraded, cd player is very nice, powerful 12" sub in the trunk, all professionally installed.

Engine Condition: Starts and runs aside from problems listed below

Maintenance Records: Not Available. Changed oil and seafoamed every 3k miles.

Transmission condition: Less than 50k miles on a 2004 2.5RS transmission installed by Tom. Works fine, no grinding.

Glass condition: Windshield cracked on passenger side

Type of tire and remaining tread: Less than 5k miles on all seasons.

Type of wheels: Stock

Interior condition: 8/10. Dashboard under steering wheel needs a metal clip somewhere, it won't snap in at one spot. Leather is fine, everything else is fine.

Body condition: 8/10. Front bumper is flaking in one spot. No rust anywhere.

Known defects or problems: Needs new alternator and/or EGR valve. Battery loses charge and car dies. Rear driver window doesn't work, bad main switch. Exhaust leak on driver's side, nothing a soda can or inexpensive weld couldn't fix.

Comments about the car: While in Iraq I sent the car off to Tom for a 5-speed swap with a brand new stage 2 clutch. It drives great and is a blast in the snow. I have a trans am and can't justify owning two coupes, so I bought a truck as my beater and am selling this.

Asking price: $2500

That's the thing, I don't know. It's throwing an EGR code, but when it dies the engine won't even turn over. When I jump it, it starts right up just fine.. then dies about 30 min later. It's got a ~2 year old battery with like 5,000 miles on it so I doubt that's the problem.

Well, I don't want to say that then have somebody replace the alternator and it still not run. I'm just trying to be honest :o

Understood, when the car dies, do you get any lights or does it just lose all power all at once?

Re: 92 silver 5 speed $2500

It starts running really rough like it's getting bad spark, then the idiot lights all come on real dim when it dies. Everything points to the alternator, but the EGR code throws me off...

Re: 92 silver 5 speed $2500

yea def. sounds like thats whats happening... After that, can the car turn over under its own power or does it need a jump again??

Needs jumped. Doesn't turn over, click, or anything. The seatbelts struggle to move and stop half way sometimes, hehe

Re: 92 silver 5 speed $2500

well, you may be running the batt totally dry w/o the alternator but it could also be an electrical fault... try and have the alternator tested along with the battery at a local advanve or pep-boys... they usually test them for free
