What happened at the dragon tail??
Word is things didn't go too well. Anyone know?

Did a search on Nasioc and found the thread. Sounds like there were a few accidents. I saw GreenMarine's name was mentioned as having an accident on the Cherohala. Hope everyone is ok.

As nice of a road as this 'dragon' sounds, I won't be attending any large gatherings there. It's one thing to drive your car in a spirited way and accept responsibility for your mistakes, but it's another thing entirely to do such a thing on public roads.
I'm glad nobody was hurt and I hope Chris's car can be repaired. |

My understanding is that there were multiple accidents including 1 rollover and 1 t-bone, as well as at least one death.
I think I'll pass on the big gatherings like that. Glad to hear you're OK, Chris. |
The dragon is fun but it sounds like too many people made bad decisions this weekend for it to be safe.
We went up with a few svx's and xt6's a few months back without issue - we all drove like sane people though and it wasn't too crowded so we didn't have too bad a time with traffic and oncoming bad driving. Wrx crossed the center line and t-boned an sti. I'll let Chris tell his story but I heard he went into a corner too fast. Miata flipped over and 2 young girls had to be airlifted out - they are ok 1 Biker dead. |
Oh my god ...what is "the dragon?" ...guess since everyone's okay that's good, but that definitely didn't sound like too much fun.

318 curves in 11 miles
www.tailofthedragon.com it's a road on the NC/TN border and it is fun but can be very unsafe depending on present company. |
Big emphasis on present company! I feel for that biker who was killed... :(
