Sold our SVX look what happened...

Well we sold our SVX to the neighbor girl who had been wanting to buy it for the last 4 or 5 years. I knew this was going to happen sooner or later.

"My dad is a TV repair man, he has a wicked set of tools... I can FIX IT."

But seriously, other than a fubar'd hood and driver's side headlight, and the completely missing grille, and then probably needing some body work on, or a replacement front fender... this still looks very repairable. The bumper cover and the passenger's side look pretty much un-damaged.

Looks like a comparatively light hit.

It is too bad it happened to a nicely painted car... if the car had needed a paint job, this would be a decent excuse to get the whole car re-sprayed.

Looks like the radiator got mokkbarred too, notice the dried stream of old coolant coming from underneath?

I went and looked at it and it is going to need a hood, fender, grille, headlight, corner light, and it looked like the radiator was pushed into the engine. I didn't try and open the hood to look though. She said she ran into the back of a Durango. As far as parting it out I think they are going to have it fixed.

I'm not sure if that's from the car. I didn't look to see if it was. It is parked at an auto body repair shop so it might be from a vehicle that was parked there before.

Send it down here and I'll fix it right up! It really doesn't look to bad at all.

it will buff right out.

seriously, the top radiator support is pushed way back, into the radiator, pushed into the engine where the fans probably wacked the tbelt covers real good, possibly fubarring the tbelt. this is an easy fix, too bad she hit over the front bumper.....if she would have hit something lower than a durango, then the bumper would have prevented any major damage. Darn SUVS that sit so high. She didnt hit the brakes soon enuf

Re: Sold our SVX look what happened...

that is indeed an 'easy' fix. my svx had the same damage. though FAR less pushed in then this case...

the extent that the drivers side radiator support is pushed in is pretty nasty. will never look the same. will never look right... but with care the car will look fine on the outside.

It's sad to see that.
I hope they get it back on the road again before too long.

the other side of the equation is that my silver was totaled for its damages, and mine didnt get pushed ANYWHERE near that far...

I would be surprised if the neighbors would bother with the buy back/repair game....

Sorry to see that happen.

It's a nice car, so it's well worth fixing.
