Delivered my car

To the Dealership for repair today from my little woop-ti--doo on the way to Steamboat springs. Just the cosmetic damage was estimated at 3600.00 They haven't even started to look under the car yet!

see the pictures in my locker under "COG trip" and tell me what you think...

Did I just totally miss the topic of your crash or what? WHAT HAPPENED!! Whay did that person do to SVX??

Alycone 09-28-2004 07:31 PM

Your poor car! They aren't gonna try to total it, are they? :(

NapaBavarian 09-28-2004 11:12 PM

My first guess from the pictures was arround 3k with used glass, it gets dang 'spensive to work on anything with 2 or 4 wheels. Shop rates in my area are at $72-78 an hour now...:(

Seraph 09-28-2004 11:28 PM

I don't think they'd total the car. But you never can tell. It all depends on the parts. If you want parts, let me know. I know michelle should have some parts in local are too.

The details

or some of them are in the SW forum...

I was traveling on US 40 east bound at about 65 MPH..(I promise Officer) and a Ford Explorer ran a stop sign, hit my back end and spun me out. No one was hurt, and I feel lucky that I was driving a car like the SVX and NOT an SUV that would have rolled.
That 's the short version.

The dealership called today

I have a bent right rear stablizer and broken right rear axle. too... They are giving me a blow by blow commentary on the repairs! While they are waiting for the parts they are sending it to the body shop for the glass and dents...

Uncamitzi 09-29-2004 02:23 PM

This Just in...

Don't break windows on your car........ Subaru has discontinued making any replacement glass for the rear and rear opera (outside upper non-moving) glass.... According to both my insurance company and the Dealer's body shop...

It's going to end up to the good I think... They are replacing the right rear stablizer and axle right now. I'm going to have pretty much a full repaint on it from the Dealer (I'm going to buy a new hood and have them repaint it. So with all of the blending and replacement parts I should be ok...!!!

knock on wood mitch.... we still have a while to go on this...

MNYPNNY 09-29-2004 04:03 PM

Don't jinx yourself.

Alycone 09-29-2004 06:07 PM

Wow, any idea how long all this major (and cosmetic) surgery is gonna take? :(

That's kinda strange/annoying about the no more glass from Subaru.

Seraph 09-29-2004 07:45 PM

if you tell them it's for a 97 SVX, they (glasses) should still be around. They don't have to make them for 93 and older as of this year.

I'll ask tomorrow about 97 glass... You would think that the dealer at least would try that.

Who am I kidding...?
