Flat spots on tires

Mine svx has been in the garage since the middle of the summer, every now and then i move the car either back or forward a couple of inches to put pressure on different parts of the tire. How long can a car sit parked in a garage before the tires get bad? Once the summer comes around i'll be driving it again (keeping fingers crossed) will there be problems? Thanks in advance

Well as long as you move it around and dont let them get flat you should have no damage to the tire...BUT....you will however find that after a while they will begin to loose air. It happened with my car, and after having them reseated it went away. My car has been in storage for 7 months now.

I just had the tires taen off the rim, and the cleaned around teh beads and then put back on. Believe it or not when your car is stored for that long it will make the tires a little weird and vibrate at speed to. Btw, my car goes on insurance tommorow :)

The technical term is 'spotting'. :) No problems will result from it, after a few miles of driving the 'spots' will work themselves out.

The loss of air is called 'diffusion'. It's a result of the molecules of air passing through the molecules of rubber. Same effect as a balloon going flat overnight, it's just that the tires are a bit thicker and take a little longer to lose air.
