European VIN needed

Hi!

Does any of you can pass me a European (anything outside UK) VIN? I have a US spec. SVX and need to change lighting system to EU spec. (asymmetrical headlight, everything I have done already).
I need to check for EU parts in Subaru parts catalog but I need EU VIN.

Really appreciated!

Regards,
Flipper

Re: European VIN needed

Not much... it's LHD so the lights are asymmetrical (?) - the higher light ray is the one on the left-hand and mine should me on right side :(
Thanks anyway! :)

Hi Flipper

I don't have a European VIN to give you, but if you just want to change the headlamps I can help, courtesy of svxcess, who knows EVERYTHING!!
:D

Check out the parts numbers on this diagram from John's old locker. Bottom right you can see the part numbers for the German spec glass headlamps.
Locker link

Click into German Headlight Assembly and you can see the parts listed; The RH headlight is 84912 and the LH side one is 84912A. The headlights remained the same all through the life of the car, so the numbers you see here are "good", and this headlight will fit your US car.

You will probably also have to change the bulb holders though. US cars use strange bulbs called a 9006 and 9005. Our European ones use H1 and H3 which need different holders and connectors.

The parts numbers for the holders are on the diagram. The connectors you are probably going to have to buy from a scrap yard and solder them into your wires to the headlamps.

That should sort you.

Joe
