Took the 6 speed out to get check.

As I mentioned before I had to take the 6 speed out to reset the diff because I stuffed it up when I put the seals in. I also want them to check for a clicking noise that I can some times hear when the car is in netural. Turns out that there is a circlip on the syniro rings that comes lose. I will let you know when they tell me tomorrow whats wrong.

We have discovered that the DCCD is burnt out. So I need to get my hands on a kit to service it. Does anyone know were I would get one as they don't sell them in Oz.

As I understand it Tom you can get a overhaul kit because the rally guys burn them out all the time. I will let you know when I find out were to get it, I am onto Mychailo as he has contacts in Japan. I think this is the part number.

It looks like the DCCD unit is okay, it must be that it gets hot as part of its operation. I have pulled the unit apart and all the clutch plates and the ball bearings are good. So in it goes again.

Well if the DCCD is not working properly... You need to fix it... Do you have a controller hooked up?? what is it?? I have heard of some A/M controller burning out the coil

My problem is I don't have a controller and when the wheels spin it generates heat and thats why it gave the apearance of being burnt out but was okay.
I was planning to buy a controller from Spider from what I can gather they are okay. Do you know what his are like?

Tony, what gearbox did you end up with? What's the code?

Matt

Dessertrunner 03-08-2008 07:23 PM

Matt here is the number.
the code on the box is TY856WB3KA
Its all good we will put it back together tomorrow I just need to make sure that I have the DCCD in the lock position when on sand etc so I don't heat it up to much.
