Quick Wheel/Tire question.
I have a guy at work that has a stock 2002 WRX with 16 x 6.5in rims who needs tires. I have a set of good stock SVX 225/50-16 tires. Will my tires fit his rims? I know the sidewall heigth wont be a problem, but I dont know if the tires are too wide for a 6.5 inch rim.

they'll fit, but will buldge out from the rim some, but usable

What Huck said. They'll definitely fit but with bulging. Several '02-'05 WRX owners run 225/50/16's on their stock wheels with no issues (i.e. won't rub). |
I run 225/60's on my Taurus, which has 15x6 rims meant for a 205/65 tire. Widths are flexible, within reason.
6.5 inches is close enough to stock that this won't matter, but the farther you get from the rims width the tire's meant for the worse handling gets, because the rim can move sideways independantly of the tire. |
