Going Mini Van with a supercharger of course

yeah, its time for a nice mini van I can throw my dogs in and pick up stuff from Home Depot etc.
Opted for a 96 Toyota Previa, factory supercharged of course.
They have some AWD versions too, but rwd is fine for me.
It wont be the normal mini van of course. Im getting a nice
bodykit for it and going to throw on some 18" wheels.
Even have some 1.5" lowering springs coming for it, a smaller
supercharger pulley, dashkit, and Magnaflow set aside for it.

Probably going to sell another Svx, the teal one or new pewter car !

wasnt going for fast, duh
would rather have style, dependability, more performance
for less $, and something with great resale value:
oh yeah, the Previa !!!

you buy a dodge :)

Supercharged mini van ?? Where ?? Where ??

Oh, that's right, you guys mean a people carrier, not a *proper* mini van....... :D

I think this guy has the mini van aspect pretty well covered : http://www.ringmini.de/English_Versi...te/estate.html

If you have a high-speed connection check out the lap of Nordschleife : http://www.ringmini.de/English_Versi.../-videos-.html

Thoes Previas are some strange vehicles. Gotta love the flat inline 4cyl and alternator drive shaft.

i have a friend who's a Previa nut.. he's got a supercharged awd version.. they're WEIRD vehicles.. i suppose yours would be a mid-engine, rear drive layout then.. just like an NSX! heheheh..

as far as fast vans go, i would like to point the uneducated at the Renault Espace F1..

http://members.lycos.nl/Vorden/espace.html

apparently Renault of France thought it would be a good idea to stick an 800bhp F1 engine in their minivan and see what it could do...

-adam :D :D :D

btw, this vehicle is avaliable for purchase in Gran Turismo 2 for PS1. If you have access to it, I highly recommend running a couple laps and then watching the replay.. it's hilarious to watch a van scream around a racetrack..

Uncamitzi 02-17-2004 09:21 AM

Cash

must be really beloved by the ol' dodge boys... now mitch.... you've been good for a while....

Actually, they didn't so much stick the engine in the van as they did fit the van's body over the F1 car.

And, yes, the Espace F1 was an awesome thing to behold in GT2. I really hope that it makes a comeback in GT4.

cant beat a toyota

they use the old 22RE truck motor and lay it sideways..
they are just about the most dependable van out there.
Im finding people with well over 200k miles on them usually
theyve owned more then 1 of them. Pretty interstesting Van to say the least. I can live with the stock 180 hp, but Im sure Ill
do a smaller SC pulley for more boost, a K&N drop in filter and
a Magnaflow turbo series muffler to keep it quiet.
Plus the price is right too.

Motorsport-SVX 02-17-2004 01:08 PM

look at it this way...

If I sell 1 of the SVXs I should hopefully still be
able to keep the other 2, ...or damn, at least 1
of course

My Toyota pickup had a 22RE in it. Great little engine.

Of course, it was pathetic crap compared to competing engines by Chrysler - right, Rob?

It's 'layed sideways' in the Previa? How so - do you just mean mounted transversely, or that it is actually laid on its side?

Edit: Nevermind. I found photos. I never knew that about the Previa...weird...
