WTB: EGR Stuff. Needed ASAP
I'm in need of some EGR stuff that broke when I was trying to take it off tonight. If possible, I would like the whole assembly that is shown in the picture below. Four bolts sheared off and one of the plastic places for a hose to attach on one of the two valve things broke:mad:
So hopefully I can just buy the whole thing used from someone. This is ending up costing a lot more than I'd planned, so my budget is pretty tight. If it helps, this will contribute to a massive how-to writeup once this is all done! Time is of some concern too. Anyway, here are the pictures of the things I would like. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...inePull019.jpg Here you can see three of the four sheared bolts. I suck at using screw-outs, I always end up making a huge mess and breaking things more. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...inePull020.jpg |
Re: WTB: EGR Stuff. Needed ASAP
Well you are in luck. I am currently doing a by-pass on my EGR system and if this works out ok then I can sell you mine. I head back home tomorrow so I may be able to get to it on tuesday. The Hard part is gonna be getting it off. dont look like to much space back there.

Re: WTB: EGR Stuff. Needed ASAP
If you don't have an emissions inspection for NOX then I can tell you how to bypass the EGR and not have to worry about it (extra weight ya know:rolleyes:)
If you do and you need to replace the EGR assembly, I am sure we can be of service Tom |
Re: WTB: EGR Stuff. Needed ASAP
Have you done it before? I have done it on a few cars before and had no issues. I also live in SC and you can drive anything on the roads here. I have ran it once already just to check and make sure it was on but have not driven it yet. Got everything blocked off and no leaks just have to unbolt the assembly now.

So how would I go about this? |
Re: WTB: EGR Stuff. Needed ASAP
Its not difficult at all..
remove the pump and all lines, plug the hole on the intake rear left runner, and left header. |
Re: WTB: EGR Stuff. Needed ASAP
more or less yes. Pull the maniold off the head. Cut the tubjust above the hex head on the tube. Using an impact wrench, take it out and buy a plug for it. You can cut a piece of sheet metal using an EGR pipe gasket as a template but don't cut out the center. Sandwich this between the flange off the header EGR pipe that you cut and the intake manifold port. Take a small length of vacuum hose and just the two small ports on the top of the throttle body. IF you have a CA built car, you will need to purchase a NON-CA ECU

Would it be possible to get some pictures by chance?
Also, what does "Take a small length of vacuum hose and just the two small ports on the top of the throttle body." mean? And third, how does one check to see if it's a CA car? |
