ABS & Ricers
Well greetings all. Thought I'd share what happened today.
What do you get when you have a beautiful svx, some slotted and drilled rotors, a mechanic that's greasing/lubing your calipers in a performance shop w/a ricer right next to you in the shop? This conversion: Ricer: Nice car Me: <thinking no S@#$> yeah, i love it. Ricer: Those are some nice rotors Me: uh huh Ricer: Do you have ABS? Me: I guess Ricer: Never underestimate the stopping power of those rotors. I have some rotors like that and it stops so hard that it screws up my ABS. Me: ok Ricer: Yeah, I have this civic with a H22A in it and I'm always racing at the 1/4 mile stretch dragrace tracks. blah, blah, blah something about turbo and nitro, blah, blah, blah you ever go up there? Me: nope, i find driving in straight lines with an AWD vehicle for 16 secs, then waiting for 20 minutes to drive another 16 secs boring. Call me when you grow some guts run on curvey roads or mountain passes and find out that your ricebox is a piece of crap. sorry about the taking up space on the forum, but i couldn't help it after seeing another post on ABS, it brought back memories from this afternoon :D. Nice to know that ricers like the SVX too, but glad they don't own one to ulgify it. |
I rescued mine for a ricer but damage was already done. He had spraypainted the orange turnsignals black, and the spray nozzles were missing probably because the neon washer nozzles were removed. the rubber under the front window was painted orange as were the wiper arms.
I'm thinking there is electrical problems maybe a result of the RED turnsignal lights. The car needs therapy, but together we will heal, and rest well knowing that APC doesn't make things for the SVX. |
re: i'm afraid to ask but....
good for you ;D
i'm afraid to ask but throw up some pics before and after you restore it's original beauty. don't get me wrong i love to make a great piece of engineering better with mods (but i'm more for a original look.) it's good to let people wonder "what's under that hood!" ;D at least it's a good thing from what kelli and the other's say when approached at the drive throughs. :D |

I love the original looks from outside. I have said it before and I will say it again. The car can definately have some upgrades all over, both under the hood and in the control area.
Wanna see something really bad? |

I don't know. The car is owned by a member here. I am not going to comment on it though. I personally think pictures says more than words.

If anyone has a photo program that can zoom in and focus you can zoom in on the little red part and find out where he is stationed at....... if you're bored... :) |
Pearlie.....
I would love to have a white and black SVX..... I think they look so good with the carbon fiber hood that is black... That way the entire top part of the car is black... Just my opinion though:cool:

But that's not the interesting part. This is. |
????
The part on the bottom of the door???? I can't make it out, can you???
|
Air force????
To me the base sticker looks like an Air Force sticker.... Marine and Nave stickers have two numbers on either sides of the sticker and this one dosen't have them.... I would say that it is an Air Force car.....

Argh...
Okay, sorry. I thought other people weould recognize it as quickly as I did.
The bottom sticker is the 'Hot Wheels' logo. |
