Pully??
i just wanted to know if anyone has try to put a sti(or any other type of subaru pully? on it on the SVX ???
|
yes, there is underdrive/lightwieght pullies out there, however I am not a huge fan.
yes they can make a bit of a difference, no they won't let you beat NSX's at the stoplight drags. Ok might if its one of the worthless automatic targa models, but you know what I mean. Oh and if you are going with a manual conversion with a light flywheel, I REALLY don't advise going nuts on light crank pullies. CEL, stalls, etc will become your SVX's defining attributes. |
I run a wrx lighted pulley on my car. It did require trimming the timing belt cover a little.

I have a bomz pulley on my car and it fits fine. the pulley I bought was for the legacy, svx, forester, and imprezza. It basically fit 90's and up subaru

O, must have lost what I was saying there. Anyway I got that pulley off ebay for a whopping 24.99 with 4.99 s&h!

Do u have a pic of it???? I want to see how it would look and how much does it make in different on before and after? |
The STi pulley is heavier than the WRX pulley. My STi chucked its crankpully dude to a lose crank bolt while on a road trip and got replaced by a WRX one. Thanks to that coupled with the lightwieght twinplate clutch assembly, it started to throw misfire codes like mad.
When I wieghed them the STi one was about 1/2 a pound heavier. The lightest I've seen was well under a pound for a magnesium pulley. Mind the heavy STi is something like 4lbs so.... |
Don't quote these as exact but off of NASIOC. The WRX stock pulley is about 5lbs (NASIOC). The WRX STI pulley is about 5.5lbs (NASIOC). I have personally weighed and confirmed off of Motorsport Warehouse the SVX pulley is under 5lbs. In general the stock or aftermarket pulleys that fit on 98-01 Impreza RS, 02-07 WRX, 04-07 WRX STI maybe even other models fit the SVX. If I were you I would find a stock pulley from a SVX or if you are doing it for performance buy one from Motorsports Warehouse (www.planetsvx.com) to be sure.

ok, those numbers sound about right, been a couple years since I've tossed them on the scale...
