Head Gasket

Well, Im here putting my car back together, and the water pump seems to be doing fine. The only other option I see is the head gasket. How much have we paid to get a head gasket replaced by a shop? Or just doing it yourself, how much is the head gasket itself? I feel totally out of luck here, but if anyone can help, that would be great. Thanks

I'd like to know as well - mine is leaking worse these days - have to weigh the options of an engine swap from a salvaged car or fixing the gaskets.

Gaskets are cheap

about $35 each form what I recall when I bought mine.

The job will probably run you about $1800 for a dealer to do!

Matt, I've got an engine waiting in my garage with your name all over it.

Miles? any other info? price? I've been bidding on them on ebay and also looking at picking up a car to part out - I'd rather get an engine though than part one out myself. Replacing head gaskets on my 213k engine sounds kindof foolish to me without tearing the rest of it apart.
