Hood insulation
This may be a dumb question, but will removing the hood insulation result in noticeably more noise or paint issues on the hood due to heat ? A mouse has made a home in my insulation . Scared him away, but expect him to return .I don`t think it will stop at one . I am also presuming a new mat is no longer available from Subaru . Any recommendations ? Thanks

Re: Hood insulation
.
The hood insulator pads are still available. http://www.subaru-svx.net/forum/show...59&postcount=6 Make notes or take photos of how the windshield washer tubing are routed and connected. The hose and plastic connectors may be brittle and break so be careful. Install the clips starting at the front edge of the hood and work backwards. Leave the last rows (back edge of the hood) loose until the hoses are routed and in place and then attach them. . |

Important tip If you keep your car in s garage, keep your hood up. Much harder for move to damage the hood insulator. A closed hood makes the insulator much more accessible from the engine. Plus mice do not like light. They prefer dark secluded areas. |
Re: Hood insulation
There are no mice in my garage or in any of the cars thanks to Colby the cat. At night he likes to sleep on the trunk of the Viper which has 2 covers on it. I provide heat, water, dry & wet food and a clean litter box for him and he keeps critters away from the cars. He wants me to teach him how to drive stick shift. He likes to drive the BAJA. He is an orange tabby and resembles Garfield.
