Is it possible?
Okay, I'm swapping the noisy lifters on my '92....or attempting to since whoever changed the timing belt last apparently used an impact wrench to torque all of the bolts on the crank and cam sprockets. After bending my 1/2" breaker bar, the crank bolt finally came off...the cam sprockets are still giving me hell. My question is, is it possible to over torque the bolt so hard that the crank would make contact with the belt cover? I did some searches here, and they talked about a warped cover. Mine was on tight, and showed no obvious signs of warpage, and the pulley itself still looks good...rubber-wise.

That's what I thought....just had to run it through the "pool of SVXperts" to see if I was missing something obvious. |
Re: Is it possible?
It actually may be possible depending on the svx. My whole front end was smooshed in once.
