Going 4.444 next week!
Hello all, long time no see.
The SVX finally crapped out 3rd and 4th gears so I've been flogging it around in 1st and 2nd for the past 2 weeks. It's been entertaining on the highway, to say the least. Going in is a JDM Legacy B4 GT-B twin-turbo wagon automatic transmission, from the '98/'99 timeframe. It's got the beefier center diff like the overseas SVXes had, and has the 4.444 ratios, with sportier gearing than the USDM Outback transmissions. I'm expecting more than a second shaved off the 0-60, and mine was already pretty quick off the line as SVXes go. :) We're putting it together at the new shop, I'll take many pics to keep you guys appraised of the progress. :D :D -Porter |

Ya, he said you had to meet your wife for something family related. It was the weekend that you met up with Harry, when they busted the Impreza. LOL

Thanks man, I'm curious to see whether the TCU will control it. :) Same number of wires, same configuration, so here goes nothing. Geronimo! :D

Even if I'm using the SVX TCU? I thought the TCU sent the signal for the torque reduction... is it the trans instead?
|
I think he's referring to the TCU from the Legacy not having the torque reduction.

-Chike P.S. Sounds like it'll be a straight forward swap. What kind of rear diff are you using Porter? The one from the JDM wagon or one from a USDM Forester/ Legacy Outback? |
